I, Mike Snyder,hereby pledge to support the Ride for Resilience campaign by taking the following actions.

Get Involved!
Start or join a local community group. Ideas: book group, film group, community newspaper, local advocacy group, gardening group, etc.
Actions to take- Join a local community group.
- Or, start your own group.

Eat (And Drink) As Local As You Can.
Where possible buy locally sourced food. Buy more from locally owned grocery stores. Buy fresh foods instead of packaged or frozen and eat seasonally.
Actions to take- Find 10 local alternatives to things you regularly eat.

Use Sustainable Transport.
For all trips less than 1 mile, walk or cycle
Actions to take- Walk or cycle any trip shorter than 1 mile.

Become A Part-Time Vegetarian.
If you are not already a full-time veggie: Get creative and skip on the meat for 3 full days each week.
Actions to take- Go meat-free three days a week.

Make And Mend.
Instead of buying new clothes, furniture, electronic goods, gifts and accessories.
Actions to take- Fix 5 things that need fixing.

Turn Off The TV!
Enjoy the outdoors for at least 5 hours every week. Explore your town/city at least once a week.
Actions to take- Don't watch TV on the weekends.

Be Energy Smart.
Turn off all lights and appliances when you are not in the room or are not using them. Instead of leaving computers, stereos and TVs on stand-by...
Actions to take- Cut your energy by 15%.
- Change to a green energy supplier.

Get Our Yer Green Thumb.
Plant trees and flowers. Try to shoot for 5 new trees and 5 flower beds per year.
Actions to take- Plant a tree.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Avoid the excess packaging. Only take a plastic bag if truly necessary. Support reused materials by buying recycled products. Recycle more.
Actions to take- Join Freecycle.

Clean Green.
Buy (or make) only all natural health, body, household cleaning goods.
Actions to take- Try lemon, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.
