Energy used in homes is responsible for over a quarter of all UK emissions of carbon dioxide, the primary greenhouse gas driving Climate Change.  Much of the energy that goes into homes is needlessly wasted through inefficiency in heating and insulation as well as unnecessary use of electricity. 

As energy prices continue to go up and up and we continue to see more extreme weather, we are at the mercy of the ever rising and fluctuating prices of energy, eating into more and more people’s budgets.  By making our houses more efficient we are not only reducing the amount of energy that we waste but allowing ourselves to be independent from the costly   

While changing out old boilers and appliances and adding in new insulation will provide the greatest long-term cost and environmental savings (and so are very important to do!), it also requires some up front cost and time that some people may not have right away.
