The flapjacks I made for the partyYesterday, a mere 9 days before heading out on our trip, we held a farewell party in our back green.
Struggling, with the gazebo and worrying about the looming grey clouds, we wondered whether the day would be a wash out.
But…… as the church bells chimed 3 ‘o’ clock and the sun began to shine our friends and fellow TES members began to arrive, armed with local country wines to share and money to spend on our second hand goods and home made poetry books and perfume.
As the evening wore on we ate bowls of warm mushroom broth and bread with lashings of butter, and then sat by the roaring wood fire chatting away until the small hours, with our friends.
All in all it was a successful day, we made a small amount of money to support our trip but most all had a wonderful time chatting with friends, by the fire, until the stars came out.
