Our website offers a place for people to gather support for their campaigns by collecting pledges.  

Who is this for?

This website is for anyone! If you have an idea or a campaign that you would like to promote we can help you. We are particularly interested in 'green' issues, including climate change, using less energy and sustainable lifestyle issues.  

How do you create your own campaign?

If you would like to create your own campaign please contact us. It is really easy to set up a campaign and we will help you at each stage.

What kind of campaigns/pledges can I set up?

You can set up any kind of campaign or pledge. We have an emphasis on 'green' issues, but your campaign doesn't necessarily have to be related to this.

How do I know people are carrying out their pledges?

We can't promise that people are carrying out their pledges, but the fact that they have signed up in the first place is a good indicator that they are interested in what you are doing. We do collect pledgers' telephone numbers, so you have the option of calling them up to check if they have carried out their pledges if you wish to do so.

Is it free?

Yes, it is completely free. People who set up the campaigns don't pay anything and neither do the people who are pledging.

Organisation Questions

How did this website start?

We started justpledging.com in Septmber 2009 when two of our friends decided to go off on a bike trip from Arran to Athens.They wanted to raise awareness of climate change and peak oil and instead of asking people to sponsor them with money, they decided to ask people to show their support by taking pledges instead. To support their campaign we decided to build this website to help them. Since then we have decided to make this website available to other people who want to raise awareness of their projects by asking people to make pledges.

Who are you?

We are two Edinburgh-based social innovators. We are specialised in online marketing and supporting local community groups. Our aim is to use our skills to make a difference. We are very approachable, so feel free to get in touch. 

Privacy Questions

Who gets to see my email address?

No one can see your email address, not even the creator of the campaign.

Will you send me spam?

No, we won't send you spam. You will receive the progress report from the campaigns you have joined.
